I might not make much of a difference this gen but next gen it might. I know plenty of people who buy playstation because of GTA and F.Fantasy. You can bet that these will be multi-format from now on especially with rising costs in development.
Next gen people might consider xbox rather than Sony if the game's are avalible on it. It's already happening, you can bet that if the 360 didn't have the games it would not have sold 10million by now just like the original xbox at this point in...
What a surprise... used to it now though. But with resistance and LPB i had forgotten all about this.
Actually the mega drive was the first with a cd add on . The first to have it as standard was the CD32 by commedore followed by the saga saturn which was released 2 months before the PS1. Duh!!!
Sony haven't been around long you know in the console world.
What i mean is Sony and everyone else ( including myself)thought that the Ps3 would overtake the 360 in the first year. Now it looks as though they won't even break even till mid 09, if then. With the next gen possibly starting in 2010 the figures will be pretty close. Sony has lost a lot of marketshare this time round and it doesn't bode well for the following generation. I think Sony will always sell well but there is no way they will have the dominance that they once did.
Alan wake will be at one of the shows later this year... would put money on it. the reason they didn't show it and others like halo project is because they didn't need to when theres other shows this year, same goes for Sony.
Well Microsoft were the first to put a harddrive in a console as standard and to have instant access to live embedded in the machine ( dreamcast had online i know but you couldn't access it at anytime like the 360), also first with multiple chat on a console and instant access to music, and online movie downloads do i need to go on.
They all copy each other, there all as bad as each other. If Sony really mean this then why are they playing catch up with xboxlive... im still waiting for...
I love the themed rooms in Home, they look really good.
I agree its selling well, better than the 360, don't get me wrong but its still not selling like it should for a playstation console. From being the market leader by a mile to selling around 90,000 a month worldwide more than a rival which was considered doomed and not even a threat by Sony is bad. They should be steaming ahead not playing catch up.
As my comment above, Vgchatz is garbage. You can pull figures from there all you want they are completly wrong. Even the sight itself has different figures for the same thing. And going by your figures that means Msoft has sold 10million from July 07 till now once again going by Vgchartz..see what i mean.
VGchartz is garbage. Same results put 360 and 14million but if you go to there graph on the same sight its at around 20million. all the figures on that sight are a mess. Microsoft said they sold 19million months ago and im sure sony are around 15million or so. These figures are made up nonsense.
Bit dissapointed with ps3 sales really. Mgs was out and they only sold 80 thousand more. The 360 hasn't even had any titles of merit out in June. I expected alot more from one of Sonys biggest games.
gotta agree with this. These are massive titles and not a mention of them. Im hoping they are holding them back for the rest of the shows due this year but i must say i was looking forward to seeing Forza3 / Halo project and Alan Wake.
Same goes for Sony, where was Heavy Rain?
I thought E3 was bit of a let down.
David Braben get your finger out and finish 'the outsider'. Its shows a lot of promise but come on sort it out, we are waiting.
Yeah it could be done, but probably won't be.
Personally i don't care. Already finished it. I enjoyed it, it was good but it's not in my top3 of this generation or anything, i prefer all out shooting though so its not a reflection on the game.
If you want it, play it on ps3. Go round a mates house if you haven't got one, you can finish it in a weekend.
I could do the main quest in oblivion in bout 18hours but spent over a 100 doing other stuff it will be the same with this.
The original fabel was the same, single main quest bout 10hours but the game took up over 50hours of my life easy. The whole point of these games is to explore not rush just the main quest... and they wonder why game makers make games linear.. it's because most people are to dumb to try and go off the beaten path and explore.
Wasn't a real big fan of the first one but this is looking good now. Shaping up to be a must have i think. Love the big monster.
Terrible interview though..... i'd do her though.
Graphically its stunning. Looks amazing. Few little niggles... the movement looks a little clunky although this might be the idiot playing it and the A.I needs work... i will just stand here and get shot kind of thing. Part from that looks pretty solid.
I don't think they paid for it. If anything Square needed the cash from sales on the format as there in trouble financially.
Is it going to be ongoing or what. Don't fancy waiting around in lobbies for players.
Im not normally a fan of strategy games but might give this a go.
